I have booked this trip via the Nohi Bus website. If you want to go on this trip, you can book in advance like me or the day itself from the Nohi bus center early in the morning. But I recommend to do it in advance. You never know if it is fully booked or not. This place is part of the UNSECO. It is a small village. There are still people living in the houses. We were given 40mins here. There are not many things here. Since it is a small village. However, what I appreciate most is how they preserved such expensive houses. Not easy to maintain since the raw materials are difficult to obtain.

Beauty and quiet village! Not touristy as it’s not convenient to stop by. You can visit the village by taking Kaetsuno bus and have a quick stop at Ainokura. There are coined locker at the bus stop (100 yen) so you can leave all your luggages at the bus stop to run for the village

This village is much quieter than Ogimachi Village likely because it is not quite as convenient to reach, especially in winter. The village is prettier than Ogimachi but will only take about 1 hour to visit at a slow pace. Make sure to go to the viewpoint.

Small and remote village. Better alternative for anyone who wants to visit Shirakawa-go but prefer more private experience. Not crowded

Date Visited: 11/12/2023 Arrived in the morning and it was a lot less crowded than Shirakawago. The entrance fee is ¥500/car. There are a couple vantage points overlooking the village. You can easily spend an hour here.
