Bussanji Temple
1879 Yufuinchō Kawakami, Yufu, Oita 879-5102, Japan
This is a historic and solemn temple. Its temple gate is huge and has a thatched roof. You can come in touch with old Japanese culture.

A quiet, secluded, and peaceful temple. It looks different from existing Japanese temples and is said to be over 400 years old. It's quieter because there aren't as many people around, and the road to the temple is perfect for a walk. There is also a traditional Japanese tea house along the way, so you can stop by and have a cup of tea. It is said that on the first day of the new year, anyone can ring the bell at Iljumun Gate and pray. I think it is a place where you can enjoy a quiet walk, clean air, and beautiful scenery.

It wasn't a bad sight, but it felt relatively ordinary, perhaps because I saw Unagihime Shrine first. It might have been better to stop here first and go to Unagihime Shrine. You can ride a carriage around here (perhaps for a fee?), so if you're interested, please try it.

I visited the temple around 4 pm. It was quiet and really good atmosphere even though there were lots of tourists at Kinrin Lake. Got Goshin stamp from a temple priest. It was free-price so I paid 300 yen for that.

Winter is never the best photogenic season of temple visiting, yet since the temple is so closed to everything, it is good to have a stroll to this quiet place for a while
