Great place. The wave from the ocean created a interesting sound difference. If you face the south and west coast (cliff side), the wave sounds strong and loud, but then you turn to the coast face Sumiyoshi Port, you'll notice the wave sounds peaceful and gentle.

Peaceful and quiet landmark when I visited. Great place to just sit and enjoy the view. Good for picnic during summer.

The views were magnificent! However, without a vehicle, it is a bit difficult to reach. (Up and down slope). Plan and research before going.

Small outlook onto the water. Very beautiful and peaceful. We biked here from Hakodate station and it was a nice bike ride. A little hilly so would recommend an electric bike if you can get one! Our hotel offered electric bike rentals (cabin president hotel). There’s also a cute cafe on the way which we stopped at with views of the ocean.

Amazing view of the sea. It's not a difficult walk up to it though a fair number of people drive. It's very windy so please bring jackets or coats or similar. There is a shop selling hot food and drinks that you'll definitely need to warm up. There is also a public restroom. Plenty of parking.
