This Western-style wooden structure is the oldest clock tower in Japan and the symbol of Sapporo City. It is still functional more than 140 years later.

Interesting for history as it is one of the most iconic landmarks of the Sapporo. Built in 1878 designed by American architect William Wheeler and is a blend of Victorian and Romanesque architectural styles. It stands at a height of 41.4 meters with a distinctive red brick exterior. It is a reminder of Sapporo's early days as a frontier town.

Today marks the beginning of my adventure in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, on January 7, 2024. The charming winter scenery creates a welcoming atmosphere, transforming it into a true wonderland in this iconic Sapporo Clock Tower. The snow enhances the beauty of the surroundings, making it an extraordinary experience. Even during other seasons like summer, autumn, or spring, Sapporo has its unique charm. Although it may seem ordinary at first glance, being here in the perfect winter season earns it a top rating in my book. Entrance fee of 200 yen if you want to see around inside the building and get to know its history.

Sapporo Clock Tower is a famous tourist attraction in Sapporo located near Odori Park. The clock tower is a western-style structure surrounded by modern buildings, making it quite eye-catching. It looks beautiful at night with the street lamps around it, and it's a great spot for taking photos.
