We reached on Wednesday 2:30pm. No queue time. After buying ticket 1000 yen per adult, we immediately took a lift to the observatory 2. The view was so spectacular. But, too crowded. But we discovered that the star shape structure was best taken on observatory level 1 (one level lower than level 2). We get off the lift to level 2 for ice cream. But, the ice cream was just mediocre. 2 stars The stairs from level 2 to the first floor were well decorated. The first floor souvenir shop has a wide range of goryokaku themed souvenirs

A tower view of the Goryokaku fort. Went during winter and it was blanketed in snow with lights and illumination. Truly breath taking. The fort has a lot of history and you'll learn this as you're up on the tower walking around. I'm very sure it offers a sensational view throughout the season, however the best is went it lights up just during sunset. A marvelous view. Strongly recommend going. Cheap entrance fee with a large gift shop below and two floors up in the tower to wander.

Awesome tower with a breath-taking view downward Goryokaku park. You can easily look at the star shaped castle ruin. The ticket price is affordable and my suggestion for you all is to get on before the sunset so you can have a wonderful sunset experience there.

a long-style fort is a spot that is always photographed by others at the top. the magnificent view of the city looks amazing. More than 100 years old when the Japanese introduced themselves to the world, Hakodate was their first city. and in spring the old cherry trees provide very beautiful color.

We came here on a Sunday and the place was not too crowded. The entry fee was around 7 USD, pretty cheap compare to the ones at Tokyo City. Overall the scenery was very nice, we can saw whole city, the large and beautifully lanscaped garden, and we even saw the mountains. Worth every penny!
