Beautiful castle with amazing display. Man outside speaks a little English and is very informative. Can you see Mount Fungi in the distance from the top level and also on the seats outside, just right of the Yamaha building.

A beautiful castle! I came to visit here on new year holiday, just 200 yen to get inside

Very beautiful but slightly small castle, still very much worth a visit especially considering how easy it is to reach by bus from Hamamatsu station!

Interesting history of the formation and rebuilding of the castle as a defence for the clan and its leader Leyasu Tokugawa. I enjoyed reading about the archaeological relicts and the reconstruction of the castle in the 1950s after WW2. Also use Google translate to understand about the geology of the granite base of the castle its quite interesting. Entrance fee was only ¥200. Very nice size and proportion more akin to a large house nowadays so not sure where he kept his 2 wives, 16 concubines and 20+ kids at? It must be outside the castle lol.

Short 30mins walk from the city centre or Hamamatsu Station. Offers great views of the city. Has a few good cafes nearby and a beautiful Starbucks in the vicinity. While small in size, the grounds can be covered fairly quickly. Admission is around 200yen. Gift shop is small, and elderly gentleman at cashier does not speak English and isn't very friendly. Staff at admission is alot friendlier. Steps to the castle are somewhat gravel and mud, so watch your steps. One visit is enough.
