Iozan Hida Kokubunji Temple

This is a small temple with a very old tree, a bell and small garden. What strikes to me the most would be the old tree... That 1200 year old gingko tree is amazing. I was awe struck and jlwas just looking it for 10 mins. Its in transition to change its color from green to yellow. Its just a 10 mins walk fron Takayama station.

I came late as the temple has closed today. Yet the surrounding is still beautiful although it is as cold as -1 deg C in this early spring... Most people are still in their winter coat

Most of tourist recommended about Ginko tree, but this is winter and have snowy. I feel lonely and feel my mind is ...cold. (I hope I will come back to Takayama in spring or summer next time)

We just passed by this temple when we were driving to the miygawa morning market. We were attracted by the temple, the huge ginko tree and the maple. We walked back from the morning market. We lost direction until we saw the huge ginko tree raising above the buildings. Just so surprised to see such a beautiful site as this was unplanned. Captured on 7/11/2023

There is a huge ginkgo tree in the yard, so thick that several people can hug it, and a maple tree. In autumn, the golden leaves of the ginkgo and the red leaves of the maple complement each other, and the colors are colorful, which is very beautiful.
