A very old and famous shrine at Hofu. We visited at dusk. Recommend to visit before sunset. The music comes from shrine was awesome. There are a lots of cherry trees around the shrine. The flower was so nice to see. We also enjoyed the night view of Hofu City by visiting the upper part of the Shrine. A lot of well wisher comes here.

The main reason why we came to Hofu. It is a beautiful shrine overlooking Hofu City. There are parking lots near and above the entrance, so you can easily find a parking spot. The Front entrance of the Shrine is filled with shops and restaurants. The top also has vendors with finger foods. The view from the front of the torii gate at the foot of the mountain was amazing. I imagine that nighttime would be a beautiful site with lanterns lit up. There were few people and it was quiet and a beautiful shrine. The scenery from the top of the stairway and the 800-year-old Shinboku is a masterpiece and powerful. Our kids loved it too.

Not a bad shrine but no single feature to make it stand out among others. Entrance is free and the grounds are sprawling. It’s worth up to two hours of your time if you move slowly. Goshuin available to be painted directly into your book.

I have heard that people come here to pray for their academics and exams. I went during cherry blossom season. It was beautiful. There is a park behind the shrine. Got a lot of cherry blossom pics . Got myself a shrine stamp. There is hall called Shunpuro which means hall of the spring breeze. It is believed that feels of spring breeze can be felt throughout the year.
