Paid facility. Parking available. Easy-to-understand explanation of the relationship between Takada Castle, Fukushima Castle, and Kasugayama Castle. After this, I recommend going to the Joetsu City Buried Cultural Properties Center and the Kasugayama Castle Ruins.

A magnificent little local history museum if you can read and understand Japanese. English-language explanations are precious few, and the exhibits themselves relatively scant, but the way they are presented is nothing short of impressive, even for non-Japanese speakers. Entrance into the ground floor space, with views of the castle moat and parkland , is free of charge, and the museum café exquisit.

Stamps of Japan's 100 Famous Castles are installed. The first floor and rooftop observation deck are free, but the second floor exhibition room requires a fee. There is also a souvenir shop and cafe on the first floor. The toilet was also very clean.

A newly built museum and it is a walking distance to the Takada castle.
