Visit on January 8, 2024 (Monday/Holiday) I received a stamp from Kagoshima Prefecture Gokoku Shrine. (First fruits fee: 500 yen) It was a special Goshuin stamp with a poem written by Emperor Meiji, and the letters were very beautiful. The free parking lot entrance is on the right as you face the torii gate. Visiting shrines in Kagoshima Prefecture. Both the precincts and the approach are spacious. Gokoku Shrine enshrines many heroic spirits associated with the area, so visiting it feels different from other shrines. This time, as it was the New Year's visit to the temple, there was a lively atmosphere with many worshipers, from children to the elderly. Kagoshima Shrine is about 200m away from here, and it is a few minutes walk. Although it is a small shrine, you can enjoy the atmosphere of a quaint shrine.

Incredibly friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and pretty goshuin. We visited during sakura season when the trees were in full bloom. The shrine staff were excited to see us and ask about where we were from, our trip, etc. Overall a quiet and peaceful shrine. Also they have a spacious, free parking lot.
