One of the best museums I've been to. I think the scores are lower due to historical reasons and it should deserve at least 4.5 now. Three parts of the museum: The big screen show, the history, and the interactive games. All three were excellent. Big screen show: Apparently the biggest screen in Japanese museums. Almost giving an IMAX experience filling my whole vision. 4 different shows for 4 different amazing animation styles. History: All historical facts aren't old artifacts, but carefully made dolls and models illustrating the event. Simply set this museum apart with others filled with boring pottery shards. Interactive games: I think it's designed towards kids but I still enjoyed them. The sailing task was challenging enough that makes it super fun. I suggest: - Try most activities offered - Carefully examine the dolls and see just how much details and craftmanship are there - Go on a weekday to prevent congestion

I really love the Kanmonkaikyo Museum. It was designed to look like a ship on land and has a deck which is a great place to enjoy the view of Kanmon Strait. The paid section of the museum is separated into three parts. The first part features a huge screen that plays videos about Kanmon Strait. These videos are not only educational but also very interesting. I especially enjoyed the anime shows that depict the history of Moji Port and how it evolved from a trade port to a tourist spot. The second part of the museum uses models to tell the story of Kanmon Strait’s history. In the last part, there are lots of interactive games that demonstrate the uniqueness of Kanmon Strait, including the impact of the current, the difficulty of sailing in the strait and the complex ecology in the area. On the ground floor, they also recreated old Moji Street for visitors to experience what life was like in that era. Overall, I think this is a hidden gem in Moji Port and it is definitely worth your time to give it a visit.

I was over there for the fireworks festival! During the festival, there were lots of food stalls and the atmosphere, sights and fireworks were great!! I'll come back again next year for it!
