Wonderful place you will love it. Their is a tuna cutting show inside but has a timing of the day. Inside the market there is so many fresh fishs and foods that is ready to eat. And also beautiful sea view and arcade games and UFO catcher. Also alot people came here for surfing and sea activities. Is super windy so remember to bring your windbreaker or coat. Their many resort and hotel that u can stay around there. Sure is beautiful at night.

In addition to getting ready to eat locally produced foods and snacks, here you get to select fresh food (seafood, meats, veggies etc) for a DIY bbq without any additional charge. All the cutlery and utensils are provided too, and the staff will come light up the fire for you. There is also a drinks stall with all kinds of drinks, alcoholic, fresh juices, coffee/tea, soft drinks. Most interesting is the daily tuna cutting show. It's quite an informative session but conducted only in Japanese. Nonetheless still a worthwhile experience seeing a live tuna carving. The tuna sold here are all fresh, caught (farmed ones) on the day itself and sold as sashimi.

Not a traditional market but a market made for tourists. One half selling seafood - fresh, dried, pickled. Other section made up of food stalls. One was a BBQ stall, where you pick up different raw food, pay and move over to a live BBQ section to cook the food at your table. However I didn't find the food super fresh nor overall cooked food very tasty. Maybe was just my choices.

As with most of the other posts here, yes it is a touristy place. Parking 🅿️ is expensive 🫰, and it's not as if there are loads of spots to choose from. Food options in the hall look fanciful, but also come with a steep price tag. But I guess this also depends on your budget and comfort level. Tuna cutting starts at noon, which means that bus 🚌 loads of tourists start streaming in around 11. Once again, if you enjoy the vibes of milling with various people, then this is a Great Place to Soak Up The Vibes. But if you're averse to too many people, then this seafood 🦞 market could be Overwhelming and Overpriced.

Make sure to get here early to see the tuna cutting show at 12:30 on weekdays. Then grab a tray and load up on seafood to grill it yourself in their outdoor barbeque area overlooking the water. Some shops sell local Wakayama only goods as well. Loads of bus tourists gather which makes it a bit crowded at times. The 121 bus took us there from the castle.
