This is the first time I've ever visited a museum that has so many exhibits and is free of charge. From the exhibits, I could feel that the curators were creatively trying to make the museum more enjoyable for the users. The special exhibition not only introduced the history of the feudal lords, but also their personalities and stories. I had a great time.

This is a free historical museum located within Marugame Castle. There was a picture of Marugame Castle. It's great for history buffs. Also, the restrooms in the building were clean, and the elevator was small and cute. It's a good place to take a break after touring the castle.

Kikue Onishi's ink exhibition was held starting today. There were many people and it was a great success. There was a collection of many of the teacher's works, and I was glad that all of them were worth looking at.

2022.09.16 It's on the grounds so I stopped by after seeing the castle. Although it was only on permanent display on the second floor, the folding screen paintings from the Genpei War were worth seeing. Everything else feels like an exhibition where everything else is left out for now. Well, it's not just because it's free that it's good; it's nice if there's something you can remember when you go home.

I went to the Marugame City Museum in Marugame Castle in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, by myself around 13:30 on a weekday. The Marugame City Museum is a museum that opened in October 1972, and collects, stores, and researches archeology, history, art, and folklore materials related to the region, and systematically exhibits and publicizes them. They are working to pass on the legacy of strength to the next generation. The first floor is a special exhibition room, but it wasn't being held this time, so I went to the permanent exhibition room on the second floor. Admission is free. The permanent exhibition room on the second floor introduced the early modern history of Marugame, with a focus on the history of Marugame Castle and materials related to the Ikoma, Yamazaki, and Kyogoku clans that were the lords of Marugame Castle. Admission is free, and you can learn enough about the history of Marugame Castle, so I highly recommend the Marugame City Museum!
