The distance of the slope was relatively short, and I was able to go up from near the sea to Motomachi Park without feeling the slope was too steep. On both sides of Motosaka are the Hakodate City Museum of Northern Folklore, Soma Co., Ltd., the former British Consulate, Perry Square, etc. Along with flowers and greenery, there are also stone statues of Haikara-san and others, and as you walk along the lovely stone pavement, you will reach Motomachi Park. wear. While going up, I looked at the old Hakodate Ward Public Hall, and when I turned around, the road was wide and I could see the seascape typical of Hakodate.

One of Hakodate's most representative slopes, with Motomachi Park at the top, it is the center of Hakodate tourism. At the end of the Edo period, there was the Hakodate Magistrate's Office, and there was a former British consulate halfway up the slope, making it a base for Hakodate's political and diplomatic activities. The row of cobblestones on the slope is also beautiful.

I personally like the atmosphere here, you can smell the sea and feel the old time foreigner house here in Hakodate.

This is the popular area of Hakodate to have a nice walk through all the old and beautiful buildings. You can spend half a day to walk around and enjoy all the different buildings
