A must do side trip when in Kyoto. Lovely journey up on the Eizan line , drop by some ramen joints on the way. Then either wander up or take the cable car for some great views and generally a lovely day in the outdoors

What an incredible destination! The journey kicks off with a breathtaking train ride to Kurama, followed by a steep path weaving through numerous shrines, creating a truly mystical experience. The highlight, undoubtedly, was exploring the underground chambers of Kurama-dera shrine adorned with hundreds of lanterns. And, of course, a must-visit is the enchanting Kifune shrine in the next valley. Conclude your adventure with a leisurely walk back to Kibuneguchi station or opt for a convenient bus ride. #MysticalJourney #HiddenGems

Unknown to many, Mount Kurama is the birthplace of Reiki. I was here on a Reiki pilgrimage and this mountain is beyond magical. There are two entrances to this mountain so please take note. The other entrance is nothing but uphill and not for the faint of heart. Plan for an entire day as the hike is not easy (also not hard) and you want to take your time to savor the energy, power and views of this place. Bring a bottle of water and some small snacks

The path climb up to the temple is peaceful and quiet. The trees are tall and beautiful.

The route is not so difficult to follow. Just too many steps to walk. I enjoyed the view and the weather.
