Temples and gates seem to have been built by giants. But the best parts are the bowing deers. Buy some crackers for them.

Todai-ji’s south gate is a stunning structure. It is most notable for holding the massive nio figures, Agyo and Ungyo! You will also be surrounded by many adorable deer!

Walking towards the Southern Gate of Todai-ji on the way to Todai-ji Temple is an experience of grandeur and beauty. The divine figures on both sides imposingly guard the underground spirits, creating a picturesque scene worth capturing in photographs. If you take a moment to approach these deity sculptures with a quiet heart, you might even catch a whiff of the fragrant scent of wood

Beautifully maintained shrine with a lot many biggest records, biggest entry gate, biggest Buddha Statue in wood,. Must go with young children. A kind of peace settles on you as you move around. The deer add to the beauty but take care of what's in your hands or it gets grabbed/bit.

Very large Buddhist temple with large Buddha statues surrounded by beautiful garden and greenery at Nara, where deers roam freely and petted by tourists. A must see.
