Beautiful villa of the Mitsui family. Surround ingredients river delta is amazing with panoramic views. Great location to start a day of exploration. Train station and bus stop only a few minutes walk away.

The house and garden are small but very interesting and unique. Only the first floor is accessible to regular visitors. Upper floors are possible with breakfast/brunch/lunch package or special invitation. The matcha and sweets are nice in a simple room with table and chairs looking over the garden. In this season, there is an insane amount of tiger mosquitos. Bring spray or go a different season, lest you get 1,000 bites and go insane, as I did. RIP.

This house used to be a second house of Mitsui family who was the owner of the biggest company group in Japan at that time. You can see the Mitui's historical house, beautiful garden as well as learn the history of Mitsui family here. Mitsui family dated back to 17th century. One great merchant, Takatoshi Mitsui, started his own business and the family had prospered for centuries. Their history is deeply linked to Japanese modern history so you may be interested in it if you like it.

The old villa is nice, the vast and maintained garden is beautiful, but the green tea is quite expensive since they don't prepare it in front of their guest.
