Very cool museum. The staff are extremely helpful, especially with foreigners. They have an app with all the translated exhibit yet so you don't miss a beat if you don't speak the language. Great place to visit for some real Japanese history!

Asuka-yama park has three museums. This is one of them. And this paper museum teaches you a lot about papers.

cozy museum about the history of paper and Kita Ward's relation to paper mills. Didn't know people made paper from the first century A.D.!! Even if people stop using paper with the advent of smart devices I hope they won't forget about this crucial part of our history.

Nice calm place, worth to visit ( on weekends free paper making workshop - needs to reserve in advance)

If you have little time to travel around Tokyo, I wouldn't recommend this place. I though it would have lots of beautiful paper on display, with pretty designs and different kind of paper. After all, Japan is an expert in paper. But no, all the museum was about how to make paper and how it's recycled. It's more for educational purposes.
