As a huge fan of My Neighbor Totoro (a Studio Ghibli film), this place made me squeal with delight as it is a replica of the main house shown in the movie. Note that there is no English tour but they provide a handout with English text. The tour guide was also very nice as she took my photos in different spots here. Best to take note of the bus schedule here as it is quite a long walk from the nearest train station.

If you are a big fan of the movie Totoro, this place is recommended. You can only be here for 1 hour and they will devide you in to 2 groups (30 minutes inside, and 30 minutes outside). The level details they have inside the property is amazing. Please take a look very carefully like a hidden door, etc. since I missed a couple of the details. You need to booked the ticket from their website. DO NOT come without reservation. They have a certain schedule when you can go in, so please check schedule at least 24 hours before.

A MUST VISIT place for Ghibli fans! There’s so much detail, it’s insane! The ticket is ¥510 for adults, you can explore the house from the inside, and I mean inside —INSIDE! You can go through their drawers, closets, boxes, practically EVERYTHING! The upper floor is closed off to the public, but one of the guides explained why, it helps if you speak a little bit of Japanese, if you look super closely at the stairs going up, you’ll notice a couple of nuts on the steps, and that’s the reason they don’t let you go upstairs! I’m definitely going to go back again, I’ve heard it changes according to the season! ^.^ I highly recommend coming here, whether you’re a fan of Ghibli or the movie, “My Neighbor Totoro”, it’s the perfect place! I had so much fun here! I felt like a total kid looking through Satsuki and Mei’s stuff! I haven’t had this much fun in a LONG, LONG time. Best ¥510 ever spent. You can get tickets on spot! There’s also a bus running throughout the whole park, you can get to their house by bus or by walking. The bus is free inside the park. Access: You would need to get off the main Nagoya subway’s Higashiyama line’s last stop, Fujigaoka and change to the Linimo line, and get off at the Ai-Chikyuhaku Kinen Koen station and then you can walk inside the park and find the bus stop pretty easily, or you could walk, there are signs everywhere, so you won’t get lost! I hope you have as much fun as I did! ^.^
