While looking at the map, we toured the actual campsite on the marching course (Battlefield Memorial HP model course) (Matsuoyama Castle is a pass) It takes quite a while to walk around, so it's a good idea to do some research on the model course on the website beforehand. The theater at the Battlefield Memorial Museum is impressive. From the observation room, you can see the decisive battle site, the ruins of Mt. Sasao Ishida Mitsunari's camp. There are also explanatory slides of pictures of the Battle of Sekigahara, so it's a good idea to take a look at these before touring the campsite. It's very easy to understand as there are detailed guide maps and explanations for everything from camp sites to battlegrounds. I actually went to Sekigahara and felt that the Western army was definitely at an advantage. However, the reality is that the Eastern Army won. This was due to the fact that Mori, who was behind Ieyasu's position, did not move an inch, and the advance arrangement that led Hideaki Kobayakawa of Mt. Matsuo to defect. When traveling by car There is a large parking lot at the battle site & Yukinaga Konishi, Mt. Sasao Ishida Mitsunari camp & Shima Sakon camp, and Momosaizan Ieyasu camp. On the contrary, it is not found at the decisive battle site, the Hosokawa Tadaoki camp site, or the Honda Tadakatsu camp site. The Todo Takatora Jin ruins are on the school grounds, and there were several spaces outside the gate, but I think students need to be careful when leaving school.

First visit in November 2023. To maintain my health, I walked around Sekigahara Station → Battlefield Memorial Museum → Fukushima Honjin → Otani Honjin → Ukita Honjin → Battle Site → Shimazu Honjin → Sekigahara Station. Although I got lost along the way, I was able to walk around the area in less than 4 hours at a leisurely pace. Walking along the Nakasendo and Hokkoku Kaido roads gives you a sense of the distance between you and the enemy...If the weather is nice, walking is totally possible. Now, that's where the battle begins. The area around the site of the war is still an open field, so much so that it seems like the landscape is not much different from what it was 423 years ago. There is an old-fashioned scenery that makes you imagine that the fierce battle that divided the world was fought here. It's worth coming here just to see this scenery. However, even though the Battle of Sekigahara started with the Eastern Army's Matsudaira Tadayoshi's troops firing at the Western Army's Ukita Hideie's troops, the site of the battle was overwhelmingly closer to the Konishi Honjin than the Ukita Honjin. . What does this mean…

In addition to the battlegrounds, there are also the remains of military commanders' camps here and there. I feel like it was a good time to come. I feel an indescribable sadness in the pampas grass. I think it's best to come here in autumn! Also, it seems that they have started planting Fujibakama trees to attract the Aspera cod, so many local people came to take pictures. It didn't seem to be very well known yet, but if it was featured on TV, people would flock to it😅

The decisive Battle of Sekigahara began here. It is very moving to think that Tokugawa Ieyasu and other Sengoku warlords ran through this area, fighting for their lives. Today it is a peaceful and quiet rural landscape, but what was the battlefield like in the past as seen by warlords? Thinking about it and imagining it makes my heart warm. The sightseeing spots in Sekigahara are beautiful no matter when you visit. It's a great city with lots of events! Last year, many Asagi cod flew into the Fujibakama fields and we were able to see their spectacular dance. It was my first time seeing it and I was very impressed! I heard that they have planted the Fujibakama field again this year, so I'm thinking of going to see the Asagi cod again. We would like to thank everyone who is involved in the management of Fujibakama fields. The photos were taken on October 20 and 23, 2022.

The Battle of Sekigahara took place on September 15, 1600 (October 21, 1600) during the Azuchi-Momoyama period, with the main battlefield being Sekigahara, Fuwa District, Mino Province (Sekigahara Town, Fuwa District, Gifu Prefecture). A field battle that took place. This place was the first position in the battle between the two major powers in Japan at that time, which were divided into the Eastern and Western armies. The outcome of this battle determined the course of the next few hundred years of history in Japan. A sacred place that everyone who loves history, not only in Japan but all over the world, wants to visit. If you climb a small hill, a tower that several people can climb is set up by the city, and you can see the battlefield from there. There is a map and voice commentary, but it's not in a foreign language, so use Google translation for your language.
