A large shrine near Toshogu station (1 stop from Sendai station). You can enjoy quiet atmosphere and good scenery of wooden in heart of town. The stairs are not too high and easy for walking even for eldery. The shrine staffs (miko) are very kind. Please note that Toshogu station is small and have only one platform. Dont be confused to find opposite platform to ride back😂(as I did).

I went there on the 31st of December in the late afternoon. Everywhere finishing touches for the big celebration at night

Very cool and large Shinto Shrine. Very well kept and unique architecture. Near the train station.

Beautiful little shrine in a quiet grove. Worth a visit if you have a little extra time. Parking available at the site or a leisurely 40 minute walk from Sendai station.

It's usually a quiet scenic shrine, and also 1 important shrine in Sendai. But people flocking around festival time and Sakura season here.
