The exhibit charge 300 yen but there is only Japanese label of the display. We were not able to learn anything from these treasure articles. Sadly, when we asked tickets center if we can use Google translate, two old men there were laughing at us. It seems they just want to sell tickets and are not interim promoting Buddhism.

Average temple, probably one of the highlights in Shuzenji. Angry stone.

Very calm atmosphere, one of my favourite temples. This time I received a little omikuji talisman as a present from the priest, how nice

The Shuzenji Temple is just a stone throw away from the footpath and the historical outdoor onsen. Unfortunately, when we visited the temple there was a group of Chinese tourists talking inadequately loud, yelling and screaming and not behaving at all in a way that other people could enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. So I tried to get away from there without having had the chance to discover the beauty of this place. Very sad.

The temple is located within a very picturesque village. It’s within walking distance of red bridges, a bamboo walking path, river, hot foot bath, boutique shops, cafe’s and ryokans. It would be stunning in the autumn because of the numerous Japanese maple trees located within and surrounding the temple. I’ll be sure to visit again during momiji season 🍁
