Not recommended if you do not speak Japanese! The entry fee grants you access to sit in on a 30 minute Japanese sermon.. incredibly awkward to sit through after realizing you’re the only other foreigner. The nearby garden and grounds are very small.

The way to Kegon - ji. I got the experience of finding wrong position of Arashiyama Bamboo Forest on GG maps but suddenly I was lead to this temple, how beautiful it is! I think this is a must visit place when you go to Kyoto, on the way to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (the temple quite near to the bamboo forest), don't forget to visit this place. There is a car parking lot, the car ticket's price will be cheaper if you tell them you're a visitor, traveller, not a local people! Hope you have a nice experience!

Kyoritsu Suzumushi-dera Temple in Kyoto is known as a temple where the beautiful sound of bell crickets resonates throughout the year, as the name suggests. At this temple, it is famous that if you listen to the sermon, receive the "protective amulet for happiness," and make only one wish to the Jizo statue, that wish will come true.

Very beautiful place. There’s a 500¥ Entrance fee when you go inside. If you buy omamori or amulet it will cost 300¥. If you want to pray for something then you should buy omamori. Omamori is a color yellow with Kanji writing on it.

Formaly named a Kegon-ji Temple but commonly known as Suzumushi-dera Temple named after the thousands of bell crickets (suzumushi) that are reared all year round. It costs 500 JPY as admission fee but worth of it. You can enter the Suzumushi room, hear the preach(in Japanese thou) and have some green tea.
