Takamatsu Lion Street Shopping Street
2-25 Imajinmachi, Takamatsu, Kagawa 760-0043, Japan
Takamatsu boasts the largest covered shopping arcade in Japan. It is a fantastic place to spend a rainy afternoon, since there are shops and restaurants to fit any taste. Some are international chains and others are purely local.

If Takamatsu Marugamecho Shopping Street is Takamatsu's ``center of the day,'' then ``Takamatsu Lion-dori Shopping Street'' can be called the ``center of the night.'' At night, many office workers and young people enjoy their meals. By the way, the name "Lion" comes from the fact that a long time ago there was a movie theater called "Lion Hall" on this street.

I was thrilled to see that the meat bun shop I used to go to was still open. Same deliciousness.

The number of stores open during the day has decreased, and for those who knew the area a long time ago, it feels lonely. I've always liked the slightly darker feel compared to Marugamecho Shopping District, and I still go there occasionally.

You can find the background of sentimental graffiti near アカネヤ. The shopping district itself is very quiet during the day, but becomes lively in the late afternoon.

This is an old-fashioned Showa era arcade shopping street. It was a filming location for Seibu Keisatsu.
