Tomachi Museum Thanks to the kindness of the shop, you can see the items that have been handed down to the townhouse. Free. You can enter by just calling out. You can feel the history in the kimonos, furniture, fittings, etc. Since it was the end of November, the room with the dirt floor was closed because it was cold and it was the same as outside, but you can see it if you wish.

Photographed on April 21st Admission is free. Various historical items such as those from the Edo period are on display. I like maps of Japan from the Taisho era. At that time, Japan has shown a strong desire to conquer Asia.

Beautiful establishment. The gardens are gorgeous and worth spending time in. There are two places to eat on premises along with a souvenir shop. Multiple buildings to view. About 75% off labels are in English and Japanese.

Free museum in the warehouse of a former kimono merchant. They have an assortment of local historical items representing an array of Kakunodate traditional crafts. There’s also a nice side/back garden with spring flowers. The front shop has an array of items made of local cherry bark for purchase in an range of price points too. Nice place to stop off on your walk to the samurai houses.
