Nice experience, nothing special. Probably the best time of the year would be the Sakura blooming and fall. I suggest going specifically there to get one of the best stamps you can get (it costs 600 Yen) and if you are a fan of Tekken!

Yoshimizu Shrine is an Unesco hetitage site to an emperor and samurai, also a popular place for cherry blossom viewing and offers some great, unobstructed views of Yoshino's cherry tree covered mountain slopes.

V beautiful place. Must visit if you are here in yoshino. Getting a go-shouin ( 御朱印) is definitely recommended.

If you are going to stay 2 days in Nara then this is a place that you must come. The view here is the best.

Despite the history and current status of it, the shrine was of no particular interest to me. What was interesting was the view of cherry trees of faraway mountains from it. It was an eye-opening experience for me on April 1, 2018!
