So, there's this Godzilla head, right? And it's 40 feet tall, which apparently is "life-size" if you're playing by 1950s monster movie rules, where Godzilla was a modest 165 feet tall—a cool 16 stories if he decided to go into real estate. He's not exactly about to play hopscotch with the Toho team working below, but he can definitely make them spill their coffee.

Amazing area to visit during the day and night for Shinjuku. The godzilla is in the red light district of Shinjuku so be aware of that. Becareful of any scammers or those those agents that try to lure you into some place. The area is very lively but as a result it is also very dirty and tons of trash piles up at night time. If you enjoy the nightlife this is a good place for you to hang out and the godzilla head is a good landmark to navigate to to get there. It's a 5 minute walk to the JR Yamanote line so it's a very easily accessible location.

This is seriously one of the coolest tourist attractions we saw in Japan, and it was completely free! So there are actually two ways to enjoy this and it is daily from 12pm-8pm. 1: Go to Hotel Gracery and take the elevator up! As soon as you get off the elevator you will see a smaller version of Godzilla to take pictures with as well as all of the movie posters with Godzilla in it. Then make your way to the terrace and you can go see the legend himself. It is enormous, and there are some really spots to get photos here. There are some décor pieces and descriptive plaques around too. You can even touch part of him through a small opening - definitely do this. 2: stand in front of the Hotel on Central Road and when it is time (every hour) you will hear the iconic music play on loud speakers! This is a great time to see Godzilla from a far and shoot his atomic breathe! Once again, this is one of the coolest things to do in Japan, and you should not miss it if you are a Gojira/Godzilla fan!

Childhood dream to see a 1:1 scale of Godzilla in Tokyo [up to his 1989 sizing]. You can have coffee and tea by the head. Weather permitting, you can go out to the patio in front of it. Free to stop by in lobby of the hotel. I recommend the Cafe, it was yummy. Each table had different Godzilla kaiju on it.

To be able to see the Godzilla head up close, you either need to stay at the hotel it’s located at or enjoy a drink and a snack at the cafe right next to it. We didn’t stay at the hotel but had a drink at the cafe and were able to go see it. It’s also kind of cool to be able to have a drink next to Godzilla.
