According to local belief, it is said that the river and shrine have the power to grant beauty. If you wish to enhance your own beauty, a visit to this place for prayers is recommended. The number of tourists is relatively low, with the majority being locals from Japan.

A shrine with adorable concept. I didn’t draw the wooden plate yet i did observe the room. They provide a space for make up and drawing your wooden wish. Which is so cute. This shrine also peaceful as well compare to other popular place. I came in pre winer/late fall. (Mid dec) This year the tree still got some red left for me.

While not a destination in itself, if you’re in the area visiting the Shinogama, you should come here too. It’s a really small shrine and takes not much more than 5 minutes to drop in, take a look around, and leave. Usually no crowds as well. There’s some interesting fountains by the entrance and benches for you to relax in.

Pretty enough shrine, short walk through and of course you can draw your own inner and outer beauty as an offering if that’s what you’re into. What I loved most was walking through the forest, i.e. turn left and left after exiting shine. See the other smaller shrines along the rows of trees.

Known as the Beauty Shrine, one can visit and draw a portrait to be blessed by the deities. It is believed ones face will resemble the dawning after the deities of the shrine bless it. After an introduction like this, how could I not want to visit. And it was very much worth the visit as well. The shrine is located a little into the woods, surrounded by large maple trees and rivers. The shrine is very well maintained and quite large. The shrine sells drinks to visitors and coupled with some nicely shaded seats, can really take in the environment.
