This is a nice exhibit to see the residences of well to do foreigners (merchants and missionaries) living in Nagasaki in the 19th century. The complex is built with many western style buildings, mansions and cottages. On the way out there is an exhibition with the matsuri floats used in Nagasaki’s festivals. There are escalators to bring you up the top of the hill so that you can walk down at your own pace. There are nice views of the harbor from the porch of the main mansion.

It is really worthy to view if weather is good, a large western garden in Japan. There are also notions about the owner of the garden, a touching story. It is a place worth enough for everyone who has been to Nagasaki for the first time. You can overlook the entire Nagasaki Harbor here.

Really neat place with great views of Nagasaki. Many old western buildings were relocated here. It’s really cool to see the architecture and enjoy the views, but after going through it, I wouldn’t classify it as a “must-do” in Nagasaki as some travel blogs do. It’s cool if you’re in the area, but unless you’re really interested in Glover not imperative to go in my opinion. A couple of the buildings on the route are also under construction. It is wheelchair accessible.

Would be 5 stars but 2 of the exhibits were under construction. The garden is very nice and a different tourist site to see in japan. Nice to learn the history of some of the foreigners that influenced Nagasaki and Japan. Also get a great view

Pleasant and interesting stroll to this hill side park with houses from second half of 19th century. Mostly for the first foreigners to arrive after Japan’s foreign trade opening in 1851 which were successful in trade and industry, mostly whaling, fishing and shipbuilding. Most convenient is to start with the Glover Sky Elevator, just to the northeast, and then start from the top, only needing to walk downhill.
