Reservations by phone are required the day before. It explains the history. There was also an explanation that they were given the name of the Imanishi family because they protected the west side of Imai-cho.

I had made a reservation in advance, but due to the declaration of a state of emergency to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, I had to cancel it. The Imanishi family was located at the western end of Imai-cho, and it is said that this area was the gateway to Osaka and other areas until the end of the Edo period. Because of the convenient transportation, there was new construction going on. I was at a loss for words as this place has been selected as a scenic asset of Nara Prefecture.

I contacted them in advance. I was moved by the love of Imaicho from the Preservation Society, who gave a thorough explanation for just one person. Japanese houses used to be so beautiful. I respect the pride of a famous family that has been passed down from the head of Toichi Prefecture.

You can't visit this place unless you make a reservation in advance! When I visited, I spoke to someone who had finished the tour and they told me that there were no visitors, so I asked them to take a tour anyway, and they kindly agreed. After that, I visited a group of three people and a group of two people, and each time the host (a woman) explained the situation several times, which was great. It was a fun tour with everyone!
