Notes

This tour focuses on the history, tradition, culture, and life in Hakata, the merchant district, and the former Fukuoka, the samurai district. You will visit historic temples such as Jyotenji Temple, the origin of the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival, and Tochoji Temple, a priest named Kukai founded. You also visit Kushida Shrine, which has a large and gorgeous float of the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival. You can see and buy traditional craftworks such as Hakata Dolls and items using Hakata Textiles in the Hakata Folk Museum. In addition, you will visit Ohori Park, which has a 2km-circumference pond consisting of three islands with a beautiful pavilion. Also, you will see a beautiful Japanese landscape garden next to Ohori Park. Furthermore, please appreciate local delicacies in Fukuoka. You will have a lot of lovely time!
